What can you Volunteer for?
Care and Comfort have many services to suit all types of volunteers. Whether you are looking to help out on the odd occasion or assist us providing regular help and support, we have the right option for you.
Our flexible professional approach allows us to tailor support pakages and services to suit both the volunteer and the service user.
Examples of our services include:
- Activity Friends
An activity friend support and encourage older people to become more active and help to overcome barriers to local activities. Opportunities may also arise to take part in training to become an instructor for seated exercises for frail elderly people.
- Befriending
This service aims to provide a volunteer to visit an older person at home for a cup of tea and chat or visit local facilities, plus practical and emotional support.
- Hospital Discharge Service
The hospital discharge service for up to 6 visits providing support with pension collection, shopping, light meal preparation, sorting out mail and help to pay bills, medication collection and preparing the home for the person’s arrival.
